Do you play any musical instruments?
Does farting count?
What's your motto?
Brush after every meal.
What's the nerdiest thing about you?
When I'm nervous (it used to be all the time, but I've managed to tame it down to heightened nerve ending times) I type everything that's being said. Usually against my thighs. If it's extremely nerve wracking, I get my toes in on the game. Though I doubt my accuracy with my toes, and forget doing numbers with them. But with my hands I'm 90 words a minute.
I aced typing in high school. Only one in a class of 40 students who gave a shit and, uh, studied.
If you could be on any reality TV show, which one would you pick and why?
I have no idea. We don't watch a whole lot of the teevee right now, but I can tell you based on the absurd amount of bad tellie we watched a year and a half ago that I would NEVER, EVER, EVER—under any circumstances—for any amount of money be on Fear Factor. Ever.
Ever.
Just. No.
Chris and Tyler loved watching it a couple of winters ago, and I always delighted the ever-loving shit out of them by leaving the room at a slippery-socks-on-hardwood-floor-sliding run to the bathroom, throwing up a little bit into my own cupped hands.
No.
I've been meaning to upload this one for days, thanks for the reminder Barry!
Chris found this by his garage door, dead on the walkway. I shoud have put something next to it for scale. It was about four inches long, and Lila spent a half hour telling the little corpse that "You're alright, you're okay. It's okay. You're fine. It's alright. Poor thing."
Tornados have played a prominent role in quite a few dreams these last few nights. Big ones. Coming straight at me and my family while we watch, frozen in horror.
The first time it happened I thought, well, sure. Why not? We've had some extreme weather around here.
But the repeated appearance has me wondering so I did a little bit of research and found something that makes a lot of sense.
Life with my toddler has been very trying these past few weeks, and I have so much work to do on myself in terms of how I parent her. It's all coming so clear, and I posted about my much-needed revelations on one of my other blogs. I'll be cross-posting this over there too.Seeing a tornado in your dream, suggests that you are experiencing some extreme emotional outbursts and temper tantrums. Is there a situation or relationship in your life that may be potentially destructive? Dreaming that you are in a tornado means that you are feeling overwhelmed and out of control.
What was your favorite candy when you were a kid? How does that compare to now?
My sister and I always took our allowance on Saturdays and walked or rode our bikes the mile and a half to Caswells General Store in the next town over. They had an awesome candy aisle and these were in constant rotation:
Marathon Bar--luscious braid of caramel topped with chocolate. They always melted by the time we got home, so I tended to get those in the fall/winter when Mom drove us to waste our allowance.
Jolly Rancher Stix--my favorite the Fire Stix, those and a bag of Atomic Fireballs. We'd put the hot balls in our bottle of Mountain Dew and let the bubbly goodness eat away the candy then suck it down. Sometimes we'd buy a can of Mountain Dew and then stop at the Congregational Church on the way home to roll the can down the walkway a few dozen times, then open and try to drink the fountain of spray.
Every Saturday night I complained about the horrendous canker sores all over my tongue from eating all of that candy. I had no will-power to make it last all week, and generally ate every last piece before the sun went down.
Soda? Cola? Pop? What do you say?
Question submitted by Gladys.
I live in Pop-ville, but I'm all about the Soda. Unless vodka is involved, then let me have my tonic, please. And lime.
